One of the biggest problems that many dieters face, when it comes to trying to follow a diet plan for how to lose a pound day, is not so much the ability to follow the plan, but the ability to keep the weight off permanently once you lose it. It almost seems as though losing the weight is the easy part, but keeping the weight off is actually the hard part. Far too many dieters have reached their goal weight, gotten complacent, and then slipped back into their old ways and eventually gained all of their weight back.
So this begs the question of that you must be wondering: how to lose a pound a day and be able to keep it off permanently?
First and foremost, a diet that enables you to lose weight this rapidly would need to be sustainable. What does that mean? Basically, it has to be something that is realistic and doable. It is easy for anyone to take a look at a diet plan and say “yeah I can do that”. But a few days or weeks into a diet plan, you will inevitably be faced with various challenges that might threaten your ability to stay on track. You will find it difficult to resist the temptation to cheat on your diet. If a diet is too difficult for you to follow in the long run, because it involves a lot of starvation or it involves a lot of ignoring your cravings for various foods, then it will be extremely difficult for you to sustain your efforts without falling off the bandwagon.
Such a diet plan for how to lose a pound a day must be flexible. It must be realistic. Life happens. You’re not going to be able to avoid social gatherings all the time. You’re not going to be able to forcibly stop other members of your household from being able to eat whatever they want, if it is something that you aren’t allowed to eat on your particular diet. You are inevitably going to be bored at times, causing you to eat. You are inevitably going to be faced with stressful situations that may prompt you to turn toward food for comfort. You are not going to stop watching TV, if that is a time that you typically find yourself mindlessly munching on food. The diet that you follow must offer some degree of flexibility to allow you to indulge in some of the foods that you crave, within limits.
Furthermore, any diet for how to lose a pound a day, if you want to be able to keep the weight off permanently, must, absolutely must, have a plan for maintenance. Far too many fad diet plans out there offer you a quick solution for rapid weight loss, but leave you hanging out to dry when it comes to the question of how to maintain the weight. Any reliable diet for how to lose a pound a day must offer you a concrete, realistic, and sustainable plan for how to maintain your weight so that you don’t end up gaining it all back again, on a weight loss rebound.
This basically means that dieting isn’t something that has a definitive start and end date. You can’t just say “okay I have reached my goal weight today, now I can eat whatever I want, however I want, whenever I want”. That kind of thinking will get you in trouble and may very well cause you to gain all of that weight right back again.
Dieting is a way of life. It is something you are going to have to do forever. So obviously the diet that you are going to be following shouldn’t be something that causes you to starve or to deny yourself of the good foods in life. You just need to follow a diet plan that helps you to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
